From sketch to CAD: shaping the feel, not just the look

We begin with the use-feel we want: pocket glide, one-hand control, and clean swipes at the screen edge. Industrial design sketches translate into CAD surfaces that define the case’s micro-geometry—front lip height, camera ring land, button cap travel, and corner radii.   2. CAD development — Define lips, ring height, button caps, and interior ribs; simulate stress and pocket wear points.

  3. Tooling — Cut molds with attention to the back plane and camera island flatness (key for MagSafe and desk stability).

  4. Pilot runs — Produce a small batch to validate fit on device, not just on drawings.

  5. Fit tuning — Iterate button throw, lip clearance with tempered glass installed, and camera ring levelness.

  6. Surface finish — Dial in micro-texture for grip and pocket glide; keep the MagSafe zone flat.

  7. Quality gate — Only green-light when tolerance checks pass on multiple devices (no edge lift, no wobble, no button mush).


Where precision shows up in your hand

When a case is built to these targets, you notice it in seconds:

FAQs

Why not just make the lips taller and call it a day?
Tall lips protect, but they also snag pockets and can hinder edge gestures. Our aim is a precise, uniform rise—enough clearance without bulk.

Will ultra-thin really hold up with MagSafe?
Yes—alignment and back flatness matter more than raw thickness. We keep the coil zone flat and centered, and use micro-texture to reduce slip on angled stands.

Do materials affect button feel?
Absolutely. A rigid back alone can feel “dead.” Adding TPU caps with tuned travel produces a crisp, repeatable click.
